Emergency First Aid at Work
This course consists of a minimum of 6 hours of practical and theoretical training, designed to equip participants with the essential skills to handle first aid situations effectively. It covers a wide range of topics, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Executive (HSE) code of practice.

- Responsibilities of a first aider
- Assessment of the situation to determine the appropriate course of action
- First aid hygiene practices to prevent infection and ensure safety
- Resuscitation techniques, including CPR
- Basic anatomy relevant to first aid procedures

- Shock management and recognition
- Understanding and managing epilepsy

By the end of the course, participants will have a solid understanding of how to respond to a variety of first aid emergencies in a prompt and safe manner.

First Aid at Work (Level 3)
It is a requirement under Health & Safety law for employers to provide a safe and healthy working environment. If your first aid assessment identifies a need for qualified first aiders, our Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification (Level 6 in Scotland) is designed to equip your staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle emergencies safely and efficiently.
This comprehensive three-day course prepares participants to confidently respond to a wide variety of first aid situations. The course also includes updates on any protocol changes that may have been introduced since their last training session.
Course Duration:
Minimum 18 hours, delivered over at least three days.
Ideally, the course will be completed over three consecutive days, but we can be flexible to meet your specific needs. The training must be completed within 10 weeks of the course start date, with each session lasting a minimum of two hours.
Course Syllabus
Participants will cover a broad range of first aid topics, including:
- Legalities, Responsibilities, and Reporting
- Control of Bleeding
- Poisoning
- Asthma
- Dealing with an Unresponsive Casualty
- Shock (Including Anaphylaxis)
- Bandaging
- Diabetes
- Fractures and Spinal Injuries
- Heart Attacks
- Choking
- Stroke
- Resuscitation and AED Awareness
- Head Injuries
- Eye Injuries
- Burns
- Situation Assessment
- Sprains and Strains
- Chest Injuries
- Epilepsy
- Certification
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland), valid for three years.
Ongoing summative practical assessment is conducted by the instructor each day.
A written assessment will be required for Unit 2.
No external assessors are required.
Course Numbers
A maximum of 12 students per course.
Participants must be at least 14 years of age.
Certification will be awarded upon successful completion of the assessment.
Participants may not assume responsibility as a first aider in the workplace until they reach 16 years of age, at which point it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure suitability for the role.
The certificate will remain valid until the expiration date listed on the certificate, regardless of the student’s age.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid (6-Hour Qualification)
This Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is designed for individuals who have a professional responsibility for the care of babies and young children. It provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of common paediatric first aid emergencies.

Ideal For: Early years staff, childcare providers, nursery workers, and teaching assistants
Compliance: Meets the requirements outlined in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
This course is suitable for those looking to gain a solid foundation in paediatric first aid, either as a standalone qualification or as part of a workplace first aid strategy. Employers are responsible for ensuring that sufficient numbers of staff are appropriately trained to meet their legal obligations.

Paediatric First Aid (12-Hour Qualification)
This qualification is specifically designed for individuals who have a professional responsibility for the care of babies and children, such as those working in early years settings, childcare, or education. It provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to handle a wide range of paediatric first aid situations confidently and competently.

BLS & AED – Automated External Defibrillator Training
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are becoming increasingly common in public spaces and workplaces—and with good reason. When used promptly and correctly, an AED can significantly increase the chances of survival for someone suffering a cardiac arrest.
This qualification is designed for individuals who may be required to use an AED in their workplace, during voluntary or community activities, or in any public setting where an AED is available.
